The original hall church still existing in base walls was built by John of Sienna in Italy and his fellow Franciscans in 1360. Earlier in the Middle Ages the hospital chapel raised in honour of St. Anthony the Hermit had stood here adjacent to the infirmary. The nave of the church was remodelled in Baroque style in the 1630s, the sanctuary, however, was preserved in its original style, and it is still a prominent Gothic memorial of the town. The oldest picture of the wall-enclosed town can be seen in one of the side altars. The altars and the pulpit are worth noting from the Baroque interior.
