The largest and most well-known Hungarian health resort is only 6 km far away from Keszthely in a valley in the northwest of the Lake Balaton.

The most famous object of interest of Hévíz is the world-wide unique, 36 m the deep, natural thermal lake with a surface of 4.7 hectars. The water temperature amounts to 33-34°C in the summer, even in the coldest winter it falls not under 26°C.
