Őrség Popular Monuments, Pityerszer

In order to protect the settlement of Őrség area, the Authority of the Vas County Museums purchased 10 buildings, most of which were built in the first half of the 19th century. The reconstruction and renovation works were supervised by János Bárdosi. One house was transferred from Szalafő Papszere, so that a sample can be seen of the oldest type of the houses in the Őrség region.

Most significant objects:
- two-storey lard (beginning of 19th century)
- fenced dwelling house (beginning of 19th century)
- appliances and home facilities

The most valuable building of the property number 1 is that of the lard which had been the united solution for storing the food and the grains for the animals. Special value is regarded to the building on the property number 3, too.

The buildings were furnished according to their original functions. Most of the items had been the property of the inhabitants, so these can be seen in their original places.
