In 1862 the pharmacist of Komárom, Antal Schmidthauer discovered the springs of the bitter water of Igmánd with healing power which became very famous. As a result of careless usage of agricultural chemicals, the water of the springs can not be used today because of its high nitrate content. Lovers of fishing are welcome to the surrounding angling lakes. The angling lake and Ghyczy mansion are situated 7 km from Nagyigmánd.
