The municipality with 480 inhabitants is located at the border of the counties Vas and Zala, 25 km from Zalaegerszeg and 14 km from Körmend. The inhabitants derive themself from the ancient settlement Pusztacsatár next to it. In 1342 was it mentioned at the name "Vosper", in 1440 at "Wasper". Pusztacsatár is an important place of pilgrimage.
